Status of the personnel




On 31 December 2009, out of a total of more than 1,054 full-time employees :

  • 62,8 % were employees contracted under public law, of whom 22 % were civil servants or on secondment
  • 37,2 % were private law employees.


Research and teaching staff/Administrative staff

At the Institut Télécom there are two major professional segments :

  • research and teaching staff,
  • technical and administrative logistics staff and management.

Almost half (49,6%) of the full-time employees are professors.

Research and teaching staff functions 



There are three levels of function for the research and teaching staff :

  • assistant research professor (12%)
  • associate research professor or associate applied research professor (57%)
  • full research professor or applied research professor (31%)


Age and sex

The share of female staff is 43 % and the average age is 46,6 years.


Remuneration

Remuneration is made up of a basic salary corresponding to the post and professional experience, plus an allowance for geographic location; in addition there is a variable bonus available annually on the basis of individual performance (awarded in variable proportions depending on category).
Each year, remuneration can evolve to reflect individual or collective salary increases; it may also evolve to reflect promotions.

Social benefits

The Institut Télécom has signed a group contract with the Mutuelle Générale (ex MG PTT ) providing attractive Health and Contingency packages.
At the various sites, employees have access to a staff restaurant and miscellaneous associative initiatives.
