The Research and Technological Development Framework Program

 

On the strength of its participation in 40 projects during the 6th RDT Framework Program (2002-2006), the Institut Télécom is actively involved in the 7th RDT Framework Program which started in 2007 will conclude in 2013.

ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) Cooperation Program

The Institut Telecom is participating in 33 European projects (proposals 1-7) taking a coordinating role in one (the Euro-NF network for excellence focusing on future networks).

The Institut Telecom is one of Europe’s leading players on the themes of Networks, Security and Media.

  • 10 projects in the "Networks of the Future" thematic program: NoE Euro-NF, NoE BONE, NoE NewCom, IP 4Ward, STREP DICONET, STREP MOBITHIN, EIFFEL, ETICS, SACRA, SAIL.

In this thematic program The Institut Télécom is one of the key players in Europe.

  • 8 projects in the "Security" domain: ThinkTrust, Inco-Trust, SHIELDS, VIS-SENSE, DEMONS, MASSIF, BIC, SecFuNet
  • 5 projects in the "Networked Medias" thematic program: Napa-Wine, 3D LIFE, CNG,  REVERIE, SA EMC2
  • 2 projects in the "ICT for the elderly" thematic program: IP CompanionAble, TARDIS
  • 1 project in the "Photonics" thematic program: NoE Euro-Fos
  • 1 project in the "ICT and transport" thematic program: STREP EVITA
  • 1 project in the "ICT and the environment" thematic program: STREP Mobesens
  • 1 project in the field of "Pervasive Technologies": PANORAMA
  • 1 project in the "Pervasive systems, connecting objects" thematic program: CA Panorama
  • 1 project on the "Software" theme: Societies
  • 1 project in the field of "Ehealth" : AirProm
  • 1 project on the "Information Systems" theme: Arcomem

Programme CIP (Competitiveness and Innovation Programme)

  • Best Network : Biometric European Sto Kholders Networks

BEST Network, the Biometrics European Stakeholders Network, is a European Commission ICT Policy Support Programme centred on a European Thematic Network on Trusted information infrastructures and biometric technologies. To facilitate the latest information exchange and expert opinion, BEST Network has brought together key stakeholders including the finest experts from across the EU to determine how biometrics can most appropriately be applied in the context of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.

  • Open cities

Open Cities is a project co-founded by the European Union that aims to validate how to approach Open & User Driven Innovation methodologies to the Public Sector in a scenario of Future Internet Services for Smart Cities. It will do so, by leveraging existing tools, trials and platforms in Crowdsourcing, Open Data, Fiber to the Home and Open Sensor Networks in six major European cities: Helsinki, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome and Barcelona.

European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) – ICT Labs

The Institut Telecom is a partner of KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Communities) ICT financed by the EIT (European Institute of Innovation & Technology).
The EIT ICT Labs is a knowledge and information community in the field of the information and communication technologies. Its purpose is to strengthen the “education-research-innovation” knowledge triangle in Europe. 

The EIT ICT Labs is a grouping of several partners (universities, research bodies, businesses and local authorities) structured in a mesh of local collocation centers (or nodes): Berlin (Germany), Eindhoven (the Netherlands), Helsinki (Finland), Paris (France) and Stockholm (Sweden).
