Building partnerships between corporations and Institut Télécom



At the beginning of 2008, the Louis Leprince-Ringuet Foundation changed to become the TELECOM Foundation, as part of the process transforming the GET into Institut TELECOM.

The new TELECOM Foundation, placed under the aegis of the Fondation de France, includes major companies in the telecommunications and information technologies sector : Alcatel-Lucent, Bouygues Telecom, Orange, SFR and Siemens.
Within the Institut, it supports and oversees projects to further the internationalization of the schools, as well as research and company creation.
Among other things, the Foundation takes part in financing research projects by incentive funding coordinated by the Scientific Director of Institut TELECOM, and in the JEMTU (Mobile Games - Technologies and Uses) innovative action.

In 2008, the TELECOM Foundation is undertaking an ambitious plan to develop its activities, calling on existing and future partners to take part in new action programs and in financing major infrastructure and research projects in the schools.
This new action coordinated by the TELECOM Foundation in favor of the development of Institut Télécom will include, among other things, the creation of a distinction program rewarding the best students, pooled financing systems for theses and projects on innovative themes, the creation of a Think Tank, scientific intelligence and the creation of chairs (including the recently-launched ICT and Sustainable Development Chair)...

These programs to further the development of Institut TELECOM will provide donors with original services and access to the skills of the schools and laboratories, exchanging and sharing know-how to take up the challenges of the knowledge society together.

> Donations and tax relief
Donations to the TELECOM Foundation can be deducted from corporation tax up to a maximum of 60% of the amount donated and subject to an upper limit of 5‰ of corporate turnover.
For private individuals, donations can be deducted from income tax up to 66% of the amount donated, subject to an upper limit of 20% of total income, and from wealth tax up to 75% of the amount (upper limit of €50k).
