The Institut Télécom is one of the 23 partners in the Plateau de Saclay Campus project.
These partners are committed to fulfilling the ambition to establish a major technology and science campus on the Plateau de Saclay, with a global vision as part of a cluster with huge potential for economic development.
Consequently, on 29th April 2009 during a speech on the Grand Paris project, French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared the investment of €850 million of financial support in the Plateau de Saclay Campus project within the framework of the Opération Campus project.
Subsequently, on 14th December 2009, he announced the allocation of €1 billion to the Plateau de Saclay Campus within the framework of the Grand Emprunt national loan operation.
Lastly, during his visit to the Plateau de Saclay on 24th September 2010, the President publicly confirmed the decision to establish several major higher education and research institutions at the site, including the Institut Telecom (the transfer of the activities of Telecom ParisTech and Telecom SudParis).
