A key role for foreign languages
The study of foreign languages is a crucial element of teaching.
Every student must attain a good command of at least 2 foreign languages: English is compulsory for French students and French is compulsory for non-French speakers. Obtaining the final diploma is dependent on achieving a minimum score of 550 points (213 for the computing version) in the TOEFL for English.
Lessons are tailored to the various levels (from 'beginners' level to 'advanced') and groups comprise a maximum of 12 students. Emphasis is placed on oral ability rather than written: particular attention is paid to developing conversational ability in the foreign language.
A multicultural environment
The presence on our campuses of many foreign students and teachers means that everyone benefits from a rich multicultural environment : 30% of students come from abroad and around sixty nationalities are represented.

In addition many international seminars and workshops are organised in the Institut Télécom's schools permitting international exchanges with ICT experts from around the globe.
Students learn to work in a multilingual and international environment. At the end of their studies, more than 10% of graduates find their first employment abroad.
