Incubation
Incubation is the period from identification of a business start-up idea to completion of the start-up project. During this phase, the incubator – which may be a private or public body – provides the project leader or the young company with expertise, advice, and sometimes accommodation and, potentially, pre-start-up funding.Incubators and incubation policy
The business start-up assistance policy has led to the creation of 4 incubators managed by the schools:
The Institut provides back-up within these incubation structures, giving priority to students, graduates, doctoral students and professors from the Institut who have a project to start up an innovative technological business.
The Institut Telecom project leaders are subjected to a selection process focusing on the technical and commercial aspects of the projects, along with the prospects for growth and job creation.
The nature of the incubation assistance offered is tailored to the specific needs of the individual project leaders.
Incubation activities in our schools:
- provide logistical, technical, managerial and entrepreneurial support
- in the context of personalised assistance for project leaders
- in dedicated premises (more than 1000 m²) right next to the school’s laboratories and training activities
Incubated projects
Since their launch, incubation activities have led to the creation of more than 200 companies.
In 2006, around fifty projects were supported and the majority hosted in the schools’ incubators.
