Within GET

There are a number of ongoing initiatives.

The Strategies and Technologies of Information and Communications Research Group (Observatoire des Stratégies et Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication - OSTIC) was created in 2000 at Télécom & Management SudParis. It is currently staffed by members with expertise in the fields of economics and management, human sciences, computing, telecommunications and information systems technologies. Steadfastly multidisciplinary and international in its approach, its ambition is to present a medium-term strategic vision within the wide field of information and communication technologies : telecommunications, electronics computer science, the media and the Internet. Every year, the results of its research are published in a work entitled 'l'Année des TIC' (The ICT Yearbook), a summary of the past year, focusing on those elements, decrypted and evaluated, which appear to offer some understanding of current trends. The OSTIC web site offers an online version of issues from previous years, in particular the chronology of events over the the past year and specific articles on new technologies or and regions of the world where interesting developments have occurred.

- Doc Telecom is an initiative of researchers from Télécom Bretagne. A Knowledge Base devoted to Telecommunications Technology, it was created for technicians, engineers, students and 'computer buffs' seeking the concrete information required to develop technical solutions corresponding to given specifications. This knowledge base, which can be consulted via the Doc Telecom site offers:

- lists of links attached to technical notes
- lists of links attached to applications notes
- a list of manufacturers
- a glossary and search tool
- Science days are an initiative of third-year students at ENST Bretagne. The aim of the web site is to be a window of information detailing some of the uses and applications for information science and technology. For example biochips, image compression and even video games, etc. These science days are held several times each year. They are aimed at students but are also open to everyone and are the subject of articles, useful links, document add-ins, etc.

Other resources

- The group of 9+ bringing together associations of former students from around ten grandes écoles, including Télécom Paris and ENST Bretagne, regularly organizes meetings (conference-debates, dinner-debates, round tables, annual meeting) to discuss all topical issues relating to information technology. Events are open to all (contribution to organizational costs). It also publishes reports on its meetings.
