Short history of the Arc’entel network
Arc'entel is the name of the library network of the Institut Télécom, which federates the libraries and documentation centers of each of its bodies: by extension, it is also the name of the common catalogue, in which Télécom ParisTech, Télécom Bretagne, Télécom & Management SudParis, GET Head Office and Télécom Lille1 cooperate.
Each school of the Institut Télécom has its own library/libraries intended for students, teachers, permanent staff and doctoral students.
Each of these collections reflects the subjects taught at the school and its fields of research. Documents related to language-teaching may be incorporated into the general library or be grouped together in a specific resource center.
Arc'entel collection
The complete catalogue contains a little more than 70,000 titles, corresponding to 106,000 documents, mainly books, but also journals, reports, dossiers, electronic documents (cassettes, CD-ROMs, DVDs etc.) with 5000 registered users.
The catalogue can be freely consulted on http://www.institut-telecom.fr/arcentel (apart from a few hundred titles that cannot be viewed from the outside).
The schools’ libraries generally operate an inter-library loans system (ILL). They can accommodate external readers. To find out the conditions for using the libraries, contact them directly.
