27 February: E3S 3D glasses at the Césars

At the 35th annual ceremony of the French film awards, the Césars,
broadcast live on Saturday 27 February on Canal+ and Canalplus.fr, the
two presenters, Valerie Lemercier and Gad Elmaleh, did a comic sketch
on the subject of 3D films. They used E3S 3D glasses designed by Eyes

18 to 28 February: Students from Telecom Bretagne are taking part in the 4L Trophy
Three teams from Telecom Bretagne were on the start line of the 3rd edition of the 4L Trophy, a students-only rally through the deserts of southern Morocco in Renault 4 cars. The aim of the race is to transport supplies to deprived children in Morocco.

The Telecommunications Forum 2010 will be held on 18 February 2010 at Paris Expo - Porte de Versailles. The aim is to offer hundreds of students the opportunity to meet a large number of companies working in the Telecoms sector. The Telecommunications Forum 2010 will be held on 18 February 2010 at Paris Expo - Porte de Versailles.
Once again this year, students from Télécom SudParis, Télécom Business School and Télécom ParisTech will be joining forces to organize the eighteenth edition of the Telecommunications Forum.
The Telecommunications Forum is a key recruitment event in France, and welcomed more than 80 companies and over 4,000 visitors for its last edition.

Janvier 2010: Verizon Business and Télécom SudParis open new horizons to Paris school kids
Yazid Sabeg, the French Commissioner for Diversity and Equal Opportunities, took part in the visit to Télécom SudParis by 50 pupils from Méliès Secondary School on 29 January 2010.

Accenture, an international firm offering consultancy services in management, technologies and externalization, has become a Strategic Partner of the Fondation Télécom. 10 September 2009: Two Institut Télécom students at the ITU TELECOM Youth Forum 2009
Morgane Regnier, a EURECOM / Télécom ParisTech student, and Jean-Loup Richet, a student at Télécom Ecole de Management, have been selected to represent France at the Youth Forum organized as part of the ITU TELECOM 2009 World Forum in Geneva from 5 to 9 October 2009.
The selection process included the drafting of an essay on the theme, “What is the main problem facing the people you know and how would you use the information and communication technologies to resolve it?”

MonExTel.com is a new business start-up by two Télécom Ecole de
Management graduates and a graduate of TélécomSudParis. This firm
offers web users the opportunity of recycling their old mobile phones
and giving the proceeds of their residual value to the association of
their choice. This innovative concept represents a brand new service in sustainable development. With supportive online recycling as its theme, MonExTel.com was incubated on the campus and won backing from the Fondation Télécom. |
September 2009: 2nd edition of "Marketing des Services"

Denis Lapert, the Dean of Télécom Ecole de Management, and Annie Munos, a teacher at Euromed Marseille, are publishing the 12th edition of "Marketing des services" with the publishers Editions Dumod. In this new version, you will find the notions of service innovation and relationship of proximity, which have been made indispensable by the introduction of information technologies. Entirely reworked, it is designed for students in business schools and management universities, as well as for marketing professionals. |
August 2009: Guillaume Dardenne, winner of the Ministry for Research’s 11th National Innovative Start-ups Competition

Guillaume Dardenne, a PHD student at the LaTIM (Laboratory for Medical
Information Processing, UMR Inserm/UBO/Télécom Bretagne), has just
defended his thesis. For the Ostesys project, he is the winner of the
highly prestigious national competition providing aid to business
start-ups in the field of innovative technologies, organized by the

June 2009: Télécom ParisTech releases its 2009 First Job Survey
The survey was conducted online between January and March 2009, among graduates from the last three years - 2006, 2007 and 2008.
The survey shows that the results for the year’s graduates are very favorable: 91% of graduates who have a job signed a contract less than two months after leaving the school. The consultancy business is still growing and accounts for 35% of jobs. Businesses related to sales and management come second with 24%.

June 2009: Call for applications for the 5th “Carrefour des Possibles” in Brittany
Over the 6-month period from January to June, 30 innovative project leaders in the domain of ICT are detected in Brittany. They then benefit from support allowing them to let the public know more about the innovative uses of their product or service. They also immediately benefit from the database of the national Réseau des Carrefours network (500 projects presented, 4,000 detected!).
This event is free and open to all and aims to encourage emulation and cross-fertilization between the projects on the one hand and the public and the innovators on the other.
Applications can be handed in until 2 June 2009 on the Carrefour des Possibles website or by email to Nadine Lesteven.
The 5th “Carrefour des Possibles” will be held in the evening of the schedule of ICT summers.
19 June 2009: 3rd workshop of the THD platform
The Institut Télécom and Télécom ParisTech are partners in the THD Platform project. This platform is for experimentation on very high bandwidth contents and services and is operated by the Cap Digital Paris Région competitiveness cluster. It is organizing a third workshop for professionals on 19 June 2009, 8.30 am to 10.30 am.

18 June 2009: 8 business projects in sustainable development, health, cinema, etc, backed by the Institut Télécom and the Fondation Télécom
In the framework of their entrepreneurship support programs, the Institut Télécom and the Fondation Télécom have rewarded 8 business start-up projects currently being developed in the incubators of the institute’s schools, where more than 300 businesses have already been created since 2000.

Thursday 4 June 2009: 10th “Projets d'Entreprendre” Challenge Multeegaming, an on-demand videogame project, has won the 2009 Projets d'Entreprendre Challenge. The prize-giving ceremony took place on 4 June 2009 at the Ministry for the Economy, in the presence of Minister Christine Lagarde, who praised the "enthusiasm, passion and quality of the business models presented". The Multeegaming team will be going on an intensive one-week support program at the incubator of Virginia Tech, one of the school’s partner universities. |

Economy 2009 Conference on the subject "Innovating and investing in the
face of the crisis and intensified competition". Institut Télécom is a
partner of the event being held on 2 and 3 July at the Hotel Lutétia in
Paris. On the occasion of this partnership, Francis Jutand, Institut
Télécom Scientific Director, will be giving a talk on "The contribution

June 2009: Call for projects for the 5th Carrefour des Possibles in Brittany
Over
the six months from January to June, 30 innovative projects in the
field of ICT are being selected in Brittany. They will then be given
support to help them explain the innovative uses of their product or
service to the public. They also benefit from immediate access to the
database of the national Carrefours network (500 projects presented,
4,000 listed!).
The event is free of charge and open to all. The aim
is to foster emulation and cross-fertilization between the projects on
the one hand, and between the innovators and the public on the other.
Applications may be filed until 2 June 2009 on the Carrefour des Possibles website or by mail to Nadine Lesteven.
The 5th Carrefour des Possibles will feature in the evening schedules of the Brittany ICT Summer.
June 2009: Télécom ParisTech publishes its first job survey 2009
The survey was conducted online between January and March 2009 among graduates from the classes of 2006, 2007 and 2008.
The result is most positive for new graduates, with 91% of them having
a job or having signed a contract within two months of leaving the
school. Consultancy continues to grow and now represents 35% of jobs.
Sales and management positions come next, representing 24%.

The award ceremony was held on 4 June 2009 at the Ministry for the Economy, in the presence of Christine Lagarde who lauded "the enthusiasm, passion and quality of the business models presented". April 2009: Contribution by Télécom ParisTech for
the 20th anniversary of ETSI
For its 20th anniversary, ETSI (European Telecommunications
Standards Institute) is publishing a book entitled "ICT Shaping the World:
A Scientific View" (Wiley, 2009), offering a prospective overview of
current research trends in ICT.
Michel Riguidel, a professor at the INFRES Department of Télécom ParisTech, is
one of the contributors with an important chapter, "Digital Security in
the Future", alongside Vinton Cerf, Joao Da Silva, Martin Cave,
Willem Jonker, Alois Knoll, etc.
Gérard Pogorel, a professor at the SES Department of Télécom ParisTech, contributed
to the work in his capacity as a member of the Editorial Board.
The public presentation will take place on 7 April at the ETSI General Meeting
in Nice.

Trek Télécom launched For this second edition of Trek Télécom, two teams selected for their motivation and diversity have decided to take up the challenge. The teams, each made up of six engineering students from Télécom Bretagne, are called Startrek and Euro Trek and will be traveling around Europe in search of information about the recycling of cell phones and the development of eco-construction. 2009: Information Technologies Prize
Founded
in 1998 by Télécom ParisTech and its association of engineers, the Information
Technologies Prize (Prix des Technologies
de l'Information, PTI) aims to reward people and projects that have left
their mark on the digital world and contributed to its evolution. This year the
event will be held on Thursday 2 April, at Hotel Lassay, Paris, under the patronage of the President of the Assemblée Nationale,
Bernard Acoyer.

March 2009: Connecthings wins the SFR Young Innovation Talent Competition
In
December 2008, SFR launched the first edition of its "SFR Young
Innovation Talent" competition. The aim of the event is to support
innovative projects, to give them the chance to develop their idea
locally and improve life in their town or city. The principle is for
participants to present a project that meets the needs of a town, makes
use of new ICT and can be rolled out on their local level.
Connecthings, a start-up incubated by Télécom ParisTech and Paris Pionnières, won for its Mobulles project in Toulouse.

From 30 March to 03 April 2009: Enterprise Projects Challenge
This
innovative technological start-up project competition involves mixed
teams of engineers and managers in their second year at Télécom
SudParis and Télécom Ecole de Management. The participants must create
a company based on an idea for a technological product or service in
the field of ICT, while keeping a close eye on the financial and
economic viability of their project.

Unique in Europe, Innovact enables young innovative enterprises and
project managers to find solutions for their start-up and development –
training, partnerships, funding, technology transfer, etc. – thanks to
business meetings, coaching, practical workshops, funding
forums…
The Institut Télécom, a key
player in research and innovation in the field of information
technologies, is naturally involved in this event which plays host to
more than 2,000 participants and 200 young innovative enterprises. The
Institut will be present at a stand to meet visitors and participants,
and to sit on the panel of judges of European Innovation Hopefuls.
Young
enterprises and experienced entrepreneurs, come and share your
experiences at the 13th edition, held in Reims on Tuesday 24th and
Wednesday 25th March 2009!

The ENSPS Innovation Prize 2009 for "professional mobility" was awarded on 18
March 2009 to Claire ROBINSON, ENSPS engineer (Félix Bloch class of 2005), by
representatives from the ENSPS, the ENSPS Alumni Association, and the French
Agency for the Dissemination of Technological Information.

12th March 2009: Prize-giving for the best internship
The Fondation Télécom award ceremony will be held at the Orangerie, the prestigious premises of BNP Paribas, the founder of Fondation Télécom. The ceremony will be hosted by Didier Lombard, Chief Executive Officer of Orange and President of the Fondation Télécom.
3 prizewinners from the schools of the Institut Télécom will be honored amongst the 7 nominated candidates. The allocated prizes come to a total value of €10,000.

A press conference took place on the morning of Tuesday 24th February, in the presence of Valérie Pécresse, Minister of Higher Education and Research. Each month, the National Academy of Arts and Crafts and La Recherche magazine organize free public conferences. Michel
Riguidel, Director of the IT and Networks Department of Télécom ParisTech, is

pocket-sized concentrate of innovation". The event will be held on

The European Language Label awarded by the European Commission goes to
innovative projects in the area of language teaching and learning. Two projects
by Télécom & Management SudParis were awarded the 2008 label:

Set up in November 2008 at the Télécom ParisTech business incubator, Lingueo is an internet language-learning service offering remote individual language lessons with the tutor of your choice. Just two months after its launch, Lingueo has been awarded the European Language Label. Organized jointly since 1998 by the FOREM, at the initiative of the European Commission and with its support, the aim of the Label is to promote each year's best projects in language teaching and learning. |
