The Institut Telecom schools well placed in the 2012 rankings by l'Etudiant
L'Etudiant magazine has published its 2012 ranking of engineering schools. In the "postgraduate engineering schools" category, the Institut Telecom schools are a great success.
Télécom ParisTech is ranked in 5th position in the A+ group. In Group A, there are Télécom Bretagne (15th) and Télécom SudParis (20th).
Two of our associate schools are also in this group: ENSEEIHT (21st) and ENSEIRB-MATMECA (22nd).

Les assises du numérique 2011 The 4th edition of this event will be held on 30 November 2011 at Paris Dauphine University. Eric Besson, French Minister for Industry, Energy and the Digital Economy, and Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister for Culture and Communication, will both take part in this event. The Lorraine School of Information Technology and Applications (ESIAL) joins the Institut Telecom associate schools network On Wednesday 21 September 2011 in Nancy, the Lorraine School of Information Technology and Applications (ESIAL), part of Henri Poincaré University (UHP), and the Institut Telecom will be signing the partnership contracts that makes the ESIAL the 7th Institut Telecom associate school. The ENSIIE School of Information Technology in Evry joins the Institut Telecom associate schools network On Tuesday 13 September in Evry, the National School of Information Technology for Industry and Enterprise (ENSIIE) and the Institut Telecom will be signing the partnership agreement that makes the ENSIIE the 6th Institut Telecom associate school. This agreement covers teaching, research and innovation. |

Green Digital Growth Prize The Institut Telecom is partnering the Digital Green Growth Prize. Organized for the 3rd consecutive year, the Digital Green Growth Prize rewards initiatives and good practice combining “digital technologies and sustainable development” and enabling organizations to take up the challenges of sustainable development. Bourse aux technologies 2011
The fifth edition of the Bourse aux Technologies will take place this June 14, focusing on the theme of publishing technologies and multi-channel digital distribution (multiformat compression, metadata, semantic analysis, adapting content, creating collaborative tools, document formatting, channel optimization etc.). This event will take place at the Institut Telecom.

Telecom Lille1 and Telecom Business School start a new double-diploma program Starting in September 2011, the Telecom Lille1 engineering students will be able to perfect their knowledge of management by taking some of their classes at Telecom Business School (TEM) in Evry. At the end of this double-diploma program, students will be awarded the TEM Grande Ecole Management Degree as well as their engineering degree. Find out more about this program |

Students on the Impulse project win the 12th edition of the Challenge Projets d’Entreprendre®
Impulse created a QR Code to buy products by swiping posters or ads
June 2011. Over the last twelve years, the Telecom SudParis and Telecom Business School incubator has been organizing the Challenge Projets d’Entreprendre®, a competition for innovative start-ups with over 400 students from the two schools taking part in 50 mixed teams of managers and engineers. The Impulse project team won the 12th edition of the Challenge held on 26 May in the new premises of Bouygues Télécom in Issy-les-Moulineaux.

"Télécom & Société Numérique"* Carnot 2 accredited to develop research partnerships in ICST
On 28 April, Valérie Pécresse, French Minister for Higher Education and Research, published the list of the 34 institutions and laboratories that have been Carnot 2 accredited. These new institutions will be receiving €60 million a year for 5 years through the ANR to foster research by public laboratories working in partnership with private enterprises.
Among the new beneficiaries, "Télécom & Société Numérique" includes several partners organized around the Institut Telecom in the field of information and communication technologies.

Inauguration of the LINCS joint laboratory
The public-private LINCS joint laboratory – Laboratory for Information, Networking and Communication Sciences – was inaugurated on May 2 2011 in the presence of Valérie Pécresse, Minister for Higher Education and Research, Jean-Luc Beylat, President of Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs France, Michel Cosnard, President and Director of INRIA, Jean-Claude Jeanneret, Head of Administration at the Institut Telecom and Jean-Charles Pomerol, President of UPMC.
This new research facility, dedicated to work on the future of the internet, was founded jointly by INRIA, the Institut Telecom, UPMC and Alcatel Lucent.

Telecom Business School and the Ecole des Mines d’Albi launch a dual-degree program for ‘engineer-managers’ Starting in September 2011, engineering students at the Ecole des Mines d’Albi will be able to polish their management skills by taking a number of courses at Telecom Business School (TBS). At the end of this dual program, students will receive the diploma of TBS’ Grand Ecole Management Program, in addition to their engineering degree. |

The 2nd Institut Telecom National Convention for Innovative Small Businesses The second Institut Telecom national convention for innovative small and medium-sized businesses was held on April 6, bringing together over a hundred start-ups as well as researchers and big business partners (Orange, TDF, Presstalis, PMU, Viadeo, ...) for themed workshops on topics such as 3D, social networks, networking and broadcasting, security, cloud computing / HPC, cross-media communication and more. >> Read the press release |

The Institut Telecom taking on 400 staff members in 2011
This year, the higher education and research establishment the Institut Telecom is taking on 12 professors, 250 PHD/post-doc students and 150 R&D engineers in its engineering schools and its management school.
The recruitment campaign for professors will come to an end in late April, with the professors starting work in September. Recruitment for the other positions will be spread over the whole year.

The Université Européenne de Bretagne (UEB) launches ‘UEB C@mpus’, Europe’s first digital campus

On 7 February the Breton PRES, of which Télécom Bretagne is part, inaugurated 3 immersive telepresence rooms connecting its establishments in Rennes, Brest and Lorient. The three interconnected sites form the ‘UEB C@mpus’, Europe’s first digital campus.
With capacity of 18 seats each, these new digital spaces are now active and ready to be used for training courses, research programs and governance of the Breton PRES. Fitted with state of the art equipment, they are designed to connect geographically-distant students, professors and decision-makers under similar conditions to face-to-face dialogue, with the greatest simplicity of use.

Telecommunications Forum 2011 The students of Télécom ParisTech, Télécom SudParis and Telecom Business School have joined forces this year to organize the 19th edition of the Telecommunications Forum held on 10 February at Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris. The must-attend recruitment event in France, the Telecommunications Forum attracted more than 80 businesses and 4,200 visitors in 2010. The Institut Telecom ever-present on web 2.0. After the YouTube channel and the Facebook and Twitter accounts, Institut Télécom Tv has now opened. It will be screening the main events of the Institut Telecom and the Fondation Telecom. The channel is hosted on a collaborative TV platform - Tech toc tv – which has a network of 9,000 members with a profile of decision-makers in the information technologies. Telecom ParisTech and Telecom Bretagne live on Campus Channel
Campus Channel is a web TV channel that offers live events with engineering and commerce grandes écoles and universities. Web users can ask guest speakers questions by sending an email a few days before or live during the event.
Yves Poilane, Dean of Telecom ParisTech, will be speaking on Thursday 20 January at 7 pm, and Marie-Catherine Mouchot, Communication Director of Telecom Bretagne, will answer your questions on 4 February at 7 pm.

New degree course at the ENSPS Strasbourg ENSPS, an Institut Telecom associate school, is starting a new ICT-Health degree course in September 2011. The objective is to address the new technological issues and challenges facing the health market. The course lasts three years, half of which is devoted to the acquisition of high-level knowledge in the field of ICT.
